Sochi, July 5 (official website of the Olympic Organizing Committee) - A new Paralympic sport center which will become the main base for the training of Paralympics athletes during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi has been opened in Udmurtiya.
The center will focus on sports including sledge hockey, wheelchair curling, cycling, cross-country skiing and biathlon, alpine skiing, speed skating and power-lifting. Sledge hockey players from the "Udmurtiya" team who are part of the Russian Paralympic team will train at the center and compete at the 2014 Games in Sochi.
The Paralympic Sport Center was created on the base of the several large venues for the active recreation of the residents of Udmurtiya and guests from other regions. The new center includes a 56x26 m ice rink, a 25 m swimming pool with 4 lanes and two gyms.
