Xinhuanet.com.cn—The Chinese Delegation for the Asian Para Games Incheon announces its establishment in Beijing on October 9.
The Chinese Delegation for the Asian Para Games Incheon consists of 346 members, including 228 athletes. This is the largest Chinese Delegation for the Asian Para Games at abroad. The Chinese Delegation is headed by Zhang Haidi (Chairman of the 5th Presidium of China Disabled Persons' Federation).
At the Asian Para Games Incheon, the Chinese Delegation will participate in the contests in 18 major events in categories of Visual Disability and Physical Disability, i.e., Archery, Field and Track, Badminton, Boccia, Cycling, Futsal, Goalball, Blind Judo, Weightlifting, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Dance, Wheelchair Fencing and Wheelchair Tennis.
Athletes of the Chinese Delegation come from all 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. 103 athletes participate in Asian Para Games for the first time, accounting for 45% of all athletes. 68 athletes of Field and Track, Cycling, Blind Judo, Weightlifting, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Sitting Volleyball and Wheelchair Fencing won championship of London Paralympic Games 2012.
During October 18-24, the Asian Para Games Incheon will be held in Incheon, South Korea. 23 events of three categories (Visual Disability, Physical Disability and Mental Disability) will be kicked off. More than 6,000 athletes, coaches and staffs from 41 countries and regions will present themselves.
