The award ceremony for the World FinalChampionship of the 34th Milano International FICTS Fest took placeat Palazzo Lombardia in Milan on the evening of November 21 (local time). The Promise of Winter, directed by WangXian and Gao Zeyang, was honoured with Guirlande d’Honneur award for shortdocumentary at the Fest.

As the Beijing leg of the Milano InternationalFICTS Fest, the 12th Beijing International Sports Film Weekrecommended 17 works to the Fest, four of which were subsequently selected for competitionin four categories.

The clip promoting Beijing’s bid for the Olympic Winter Games, The Journey is the Reward, selected andsubmitted by the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic andParalympic Winter Games, was played at the award ceremony. Franco Ascani,President of the International Sports Movies and Television Federation (FICTS),stated that Milano International FICTS Fest highly valued its collaborationwith Beijing, which occupied a pivotal position in FICTS. He said that all 17of the films Beijing submitted were outstanding. He looked forward to more greatworks from Beijing International Sports Film Week during the preparation forthe Winter Olympics.
