On the evening of March 11, the IOC held its 137th plenary meeting via video streaming. IOC President Bach presided over the meeting.

In his opening speech at the meeting, President Bach said that Beijing is ready to welcome the world's best winter athletes to participate in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. He added that the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee would report their progress to the 137th Plenary Session. When the Beijing Winter Olympics ushered in the one-year countdown, excellent preparations for the Games were made: all competition venues were completed, and the testing activities in the mountain competition areas were started.

Bach said: "Although the pandemic caused many challenges, we can now confidently say that the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee is ready to welcome the world's best winter athletes to attend this global sports gathering."
