On April 3, the 13^th Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF) announced at a press conference that it would continue to work hand in hand with Beijing International Sports Film Week. Using excellent sports films as the medium and bridge, the two will jointly contribute to the development of Chinese sport films, inherit the Olympic legacy, promote the Olympic spirit, and expand the influence of Beijing as the only Summer and Winter Olympic City and of Chinese sports culture.

Under the theme of “Dual Olympic Dreams in Images,” the 19^th Beijing International Sports Film Week is jointly organized by the Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee, the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) and Beijing Olympic City Development Association, and undertaken by the Press Committee of the COC and Beijing Olympic City Development Center. Starting from April, the 19^th Beijing International Sports Film Week will launch a call for entries, the screening of global excellent sport films, salons and forums for film and sport professionals, organize non-for-profit screenings of sport films, recommend films for the Media’s Choice Award, organize the film evalsuation for the Sports Film Project Support Fund, announce excellent works and organize a screening for the participants of the Beijing 2022 Games. The productions that have passed the preliminary and final evalsuation by professional judges will be announced in August, and recommended to compete in the World Finals of the 41^st Milano International FICTS Fest.

Beijing 2022, the official film of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, will be screened during the Film Week. The Film Week will also be deeply integrated with the “Beijing Market” and “Movie+” sections of the Beijing International Film Festival, and stage outdoor film screening and promotion activities at Langyuan Station of Shougang Park, with a sports culture exhibition area set up, to stimulate sport-related consumption.
